Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 6, 2026
Everyday Backups, Inc. ("Everyday Backups", "we", "us", or "our") provides automated, encrypted cloud backup software. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
a. Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, organization name (if applicable), and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
b. Billing Information
Subscription payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We receive limited billing metadata (such as the last four digits of your card and your billing country), but we do not store or process full credit card numbers on our systems.
c. Backup Data
Files you back up through the Service are encrypted on your device before being transmitted to our cloud storage. We store the encrypted data and metadata required to manage and restore it (such as file paths, sizes, and timestamps), but we do not have access to the unencrypted contents of your files in the ordinary course of business.
d. Device & Diagnostic Information
Our software collects information necessary to run backups reliably, including the operating system, device name, agent version, backup status, error messages, and similar telemetry. This information is used to operate the Service and to diagnose issues.
e. Sign-in via Google or Apple
If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and basic profile information from those providers. We use this information solely to create or sign you into your Everyday Backups account. We do not access your Google Drive, iCloud, calendar, contacts, or any other data outside of basic profile information.
f. Website Usage
Our marketing website may use cookies and standard analytics to understand traffic patterns. These analytics do not identify individual users beyond what is necessary for aggregate measurement.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- To process payments and manage subscriptions;
- To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and service updates;
- To diagnose technical issues and detect security incidents;
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Encryption & Security
All backup files are encrypted on your device before they are transmitted. Encryption keys are managed by our software and are not transmitted in plain text. Our cloud infrastructure uses industry-standard TLS for data in transit and encryption at rest for all stored data.
No system is perfectly secure. While we follow industry best practices, we cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage customers to maintain at least one additional independent backup of irreplaceable data.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run the Service (such as cloud-storage providers, payment processors, and email infrastructure), bound by contractual confidentiality and security obligations;
- Legal authorities, when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Everyday Backups, our customers, or the public;
- Successors, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to a privacy commitment at least as protective as this Policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and billing information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal and tax obligations. Encrypted backup data is retained for 30 days following cancellation or termination, after which it is permanently deleted.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. International Users
Everyday Backups is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
